Pro EFT Tapping Technique: How long do I tap on the points?

Tapping through the points, fairly quickly.

So, how long do I tap on any given point? Quite often practitioners and clients alike, will stay on a point for an extended period of time. Often this is done on the karate chop point.  Pro EFT Tapping Technique, makes changes in the body, by changing the area being stimulated, while staying on the same theme.

Move it or lose it, is a perfect reminder. This is great advice from my EFT Master Trainer, Lindsay Kenny. She is the creator of Pro EFT. In his original EFT course, Gary Craig instructed, that the tapping points are properly stimulated with in 5-7 taps. Tapping for any length of time beyond that, does not increase the benefit. To my knowledge, there has not been any peer reviewed study, that has compared, tapping for some time on a point, vs moving on more quickly. In leu of such a study, I am going with the advice of the greats, as well as my own personal experience.

I have experienced, Psych K technique, Tappas Acupressure Technique, and many forms of EFT, from other practitioners. I have also experimented with different forms, that cause a Parasympathetic Nervous System relaxation response, just like when tapping. I have observed that staying on a point, or holding a position for a longer length of time, is very relaxing. It does not, however, cover as many aspects of an issue, as moving on more quickly. It also does not, go into the depth that is needed to resolve complex and intense issues.

I move to a new point, with each phrase. That gives you the maximum effect of moving the energy through the body. I am convinced that moving from one point to the next, intensifies the effect of the tapping overall. Having facilitated, several thousand sessions, from 20 minutes to 3 hours long, I can attest to the efficacy of moving through the points rather quickly. Often just 2 or 3 taps, with a very short phrase, produces the effect. I do stay on a point, until the phrase is completed. Rushing through the points, with speed as a goal, loses the other part of what makes EFT, so effective. We are firing a neural network, that produces the reactions, while we stimulate the point. Both the point and the thought, need to be timed together.

Pro EFT Tapping Technique, is an excellent way to tap in the life you envision. Now that you have an idea, of how long to tap, on each point, tap! If you don’t know what else to do, just tap and talk, that in itself creates many benefits.
